Modernizing applicationsleft without a developer
We take over web applications that work but that nobody can maintain any more. We rebuild the source code from the version running in production, set up a test environment, speed up slow pages and move the server and database to supported versions.
It works, but can't grow
The application was built by another company or by a developer who no longer works for you. The source code you have no longer matches what is running, there is no test environment, and every change is made directly on production.
Meanwhile, the server and database go out of support, and some pages end up taking minutes to load. A rewrite from scratch is expensive and risky. The Tody platform didn't need one: we started from what was already running.
Signs
- the source doesn't match production
- no test environment
- slow admin pages
- versions out of support
- changes made without control
After the takeover
- up-to-date source code, built by us
- every change is tried in testing first
- timings measured before and after
- new versions, with a rollback plan
- alerts on changes made outside the team
The takeover, in 5 steps
We change nothing until we can reproduce exactly what is running now.
What stays with you
Rebuilt source code
From the version running in production, built with the same compiler as the original and verified component by component.
Isolated test environment
A copy of production, with e-mails redirected only to the team and card payments in test mode.
Faster pages
We find the real cause – repeated queries, blocked requests, heavy reports – and fix it without changing the application's logic.
Server and database migration
Windows Server and PostgreSQL on new versions, with short downtime, data verification and a rollback plan.
Tickets with automatic deployment
You approve the cost of each requirement, test it and start the deployment yourself, with file verification and a rollback button.
Monitoring and backup
The site checked every minute, alerts on changes made outside the team and backups in the cloud.
Where we did exactly this
B2B platform for laboratories: takeover and modernization
Rebuilt source code, test environment, tickets with automatic deployment, migration to PostgreSQL 17 and monitoring.
A mobile app on the same platform
The next step after the takeover: an API added to the existing application, with no duplicated logic.
IT infrastructure and security
The servers the application runs on: virtualization, VPN, verified backup.
What clients ask us
What if we don't have up-to-date source code at all?
We rebuild it from the version running in production. For Tody we identified exactly which files had changed compared with the old source, rebuilt them, compiled with the same compiler as the original and compared the result type by type with production.
Do we have to stop the application while you work?
No. We work in a separate test environment. Downtime happens only when migrating the server or database; for Tody it lasted about 30 minutes, with zero differences when the data was checked.
Who decides what goes into production?
You do. Every request becomes a ticket with its own cost. Once you approve and test it, you start the deployment yourself, and every deployment has a backup beforehand and a rollback button.
What role does Claude play in modernization?
Claude analyses the code and the database, writes the changes and scripts and tests them in the test environment. Decisions, final verification and production access stay with us. Details on the How we work with Claude page.
Have an application left without a developer?
Tell us what is running, on which server and what no longer works. We start with an assessment, not a quote.
